There are also many tales around the origin of the festival. The most famous is about the Chang’e flying to the moon.
It’s said that Chang’e flew to the Moon Palace, and became the goddess of the moon, after she took the elixir of immortality.It is a time for family members and loved ones to congregate and enjoy the full moon.During the festival, the sharing and eating of round mooncakes among family members signify the completeness and unity of families.
